At least two separate branches of the family emigrated to New Zealand, Charles James Mayhead
b 1865, married in South Shealds England, he seems to have led a colourful life, particularly in his younger days as a seaman, leaving progeny in New Zealand, information supplied by his grandson, Ronald D Mayhead.

David Wilson has reasentley made contact his maternal grandmother was Gladys the daughter of Henry James he shares common ancestory with Geffory Ian Mayhead of Tasmania
